Princeton University is building a new home for environmental studies, engineering, and applied science. With the creation of the new campus 'neighborhood', engineering will be more integrated with the rest of campus, including the humanities, social sciences, and public policy. These expanding fields require a closer proximity for key collaborators, experts, and innovators to convene both across and beyond the University - addressing critical societal needs. The four initial buildings involved in the expansion — environmental science, bioengineering, chemical and biological engineering, and an engineering commons, are scheduled to open late in 2024.
Working alongside Ennead Architects, LERA (Consulting Structural Engineers) and Contractor Whiting-Turner, Synergi is pleased to be selected as the stair subcontractor for the 'ES & SEAS' phase of the expansion. Seeking LEED certification, the project will "advance the sustainability ethos of the University and reflect the importance of environmental studies and engineering in a 21st-century liberal arts university."
