Our Challenge

Our specialized restoration division was tasked with upgrading the existing bronze railings to update to date building code for railings. This particular project involved after dark operations where our team mobilized and removed one section of old railing at a time and transported back to our shop for modifications and refinishing. Then we returned at night to reinstall and remove the next section until all the historic bronze railings were upgraded.

The railings were completed on time, on the budget, no change orders, and perfectly matched the existing railings. Added benefit the new railings were sturdier than before giving all 8 million visitors more confidence when climbing the beautiful steps to the top.
